Coming from Arkansas originally, the ascent of Bill Clinton was also highly influential to Attorney Allen. Family members worked with Bill in the years before being elected President, and this taught a lesson to a young Melvin that a kid from Arkansas could do whatever his hard work and good fortune allowed.
