Accidents happen every day, and while most can be prevented, only a rare few are true accidents with no one to blame. A recent Boston car accident involving three vehicles is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police.
While driving along the Birmingham Parkway, an older man failed to make a turn onto the McHugh Overpass. He hit a fence and guardrail in the process of making the turn. The driver then hit a Honda, which was headed west. The guardrail was knocked loose and hit another vehicle, a Volvo.
The drivers of the vehicles that hit each other suffered injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver who was struck by the guardrail was not hurt. No charges have been filed, and the injured men are expected to be okay.
This accident highlights the need to really take in your surroundings when you’re behind the wheel. While it’s easy to make mistakes and accidents do happen, proper turning may have avoided this entire accident. Drivers can properly protect themselves from accidents like these by doing two things. First, you can take a safe-driver course to learn better road-safety skills.
